First Land Surveyors

Land Surveying has been around since the dawn of time almost. Once great dynasty realized that taxation of there citizens was the best way to raise money taxation and of course surveying became very popular. Surveying has touched a majority of all major civilizations that once were considered great.

Egyptian Times

The first land surveyors are thought to have been through out ancient Egypt. The Egyptians used the surveying for taxation purposes. There equipment was a little more pre historic then the electronic equipment we have now but with ropes they were able to gather dimensions of plots of land. Using beeswax and resin would get the rope to hold its length and be measured super efficiently with every length.

Romans

When the Romans came on the scene they are the earliest seen proof of using the Groma tool. This groma tool resembles the surveying tools we use today. When we go out to each job we thank our lucky stars that we are not out in any field trying to measure with out our surveying equipment. We could do measurements without but it makes life so much easier.
